Jesus Is Laid in the Tomb
A meditation and prayer on the fourteenth Station of the Cross.
Meditation: As Jesus is laid in the tomb, a stone sealing the entrance, it appears that hope is lost. Yet, this moment of burial is not the end but a prelude to the greatest victory—His resurrection. Reflect on the times of waiting and uncertainty in your life, remembering that with God, the end of one thing is always the beginning of something new and miraculous.
Prayer: Almighty God, in the quiet of the tomb, where Jesus was laid to rest, we find ourselves contemplating the mystery of death and the promise of new life. In our moments of waiting, in our seasons of grief and uncertainty, remind us that You are the resurrection and the life. Teach us to wait with hope, knowing that what seems like the end is often the threshold to a new beginning with You. May our lives be marked by the resurrection hope that Jesus' tomb signifies—not an end, but a glorious beginning. Empower us to live as resurrection people, filled with joy, hope, and the courage to face each day with confidence in Your triumph over death. In the victorious name of Jesus, who rose from the dead and promises us eternal life, Amen.
