Jesus Is Nailed to the Cross
A meditation and prayer on the eleventh Station of the Cross.
Meditation: As the nails pierce Jesus’ hands and feet, we're reminded of the piercing reality of sin and its consequences. Yet, in this very act, love is demonstrated in its purest form. Jesus’ willingness to be nailed to the cross shows the depth of God's love for us, a love that bears all things for the sake of our redemption. Reflect on the love that led Jesus to endure the cross for you and how you can respond to such sacrificial love.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, before the cross where Jesus was nailed, we stand in awe of Your sacrificial love. Each nail, each wound, speaks of the depth of Your love for us, a love that chose suffering for the sake of our freedom. Help us to never take for granted this gift of love. May our lives be a response to Your grace, living not for ourselves but for Him who died for us and was raised again. Teach us to love as Jesus loved, to bear our own crosses with the assurance of Your presence and the hope of resurrection. In the name of Jesus, our Savior, who suffered and died that we might live, Amen.
