Jesus Is Stripped of His Garments
A meditation and prayer on the tenth Station of the Cross.
Meditation: In this moment, Jesus experiences the ultimate vulnerability—being stripped not only of His garments but also of human dignity in the eyes of the world. This act symbolizes the stripping away of our own pretenses and the things we hide behind, inviting us to stand transparent before God. Reflect on what you need to lay down at the feet of Jesus, allowing Him to clothe you in His righteousness and love.
Prayer: Almighty God, as Jesus was stripped of His garments, exposed and vulnerable before those He came to save, help us to lay down our defenses, our pride, and our sin at the cross. In our vulnerability, remind us that we are clothed in Christ’s righteousness. Teach us the freedom that comes from surrendering fully to You, not hiding behind any facade but living openly and authentically as Your children. May we find our dignity not in the world’s standards but in being beloved by You. We pray in the name of Jesus, who endured shame for our sake and clothes us in glory and honor, Amen.
